Shannon* worked nights and struggled to get quality sleep during the day. She was an intensive care unit nurse, in health coaching school, the main manager of her household and committed to building her new coaching business.
Talk about a lot going on!
We cleared out the clutter that was draining the energy of her office and made it a space she would actually want to spend time in. We tweaked the system she was using to track all that she had to do so she things not longer fell through the cracks.
Shannon and I also tackled her very fluid, hard-to-pin-down schedule. She got clear on how little time she actually had to focus on her business and consolidated it down to 1/2 day per week when she would see clients and market herself.
As a health coach, Shannon was keenly aware of the impact that the lack of time was having on her sleep and health. Once we walked through how her schedule could look, she was able to develop a plan for keeping on track herself – so that she wouldn’t fall into burnout.
When I followed up with Shannon a couple of months after working together, she noted some very interesting results. One of the biggest was that she had changed jobs so she was now working days. She felt more in control of her schedule.
The other interesting benefit was that she had received a couple surprise windfalls. She felt this happened by clearing out the “money” area of her home – the office – and letting new energy in. I couldn’t agree more!
What could be possible if you aligned your schedule to fit your world?
